Dersin Amacı

Bu ders pragmatiğin ne olduğunu açıklar ve dil öğretiminde pragmatiğin yerini tartışır. Bu ders, lisansüstü öğrencilerine Dilbilim'de bağlamsallaştırılmış anlam çalışmasını tanıtacak ve şu soruyu cevaplamaya çalışacaktır: Söylediklerimizden nasıl anlam çıkarırız? Pragmatik, insanların nasıl iletişim kurduğunu ve birbirlerini nasıl anladığını inceleyen Dilbilim dalıdır. Bunu kavramak için iletişimi konuşmacı anlamı, bağlamsal anlam, dil dışı iletişim ve göreli mesafe olarak parçalara ayıracağız. Pragmatik aynı zamanda "işaretlerin kullanıcıları ve yorumcularıyla ilişkisi" (Horn, 2010) olarak da tanımlanabileceğinden, bireylerin kültürel deneyimlerini, dünya görüşlerini ve varsayımlarını konuşmalara nasıl taşıdıklarını da inceleyeceğiz. Dilin bu yönlerini analiz etmek için söylem analizi için resmi bir sistem geliştireceğiz ve mezunlar doğal dili resmi bir şekilde analiz etmek için gerekli araçlarla mezun olacaklar.
